I just finished reading Virginia McClain's exciting book Blade's Edge. It was a rush to the end, because I couldn't put it down.
The story is a fantasy in a mystical land that resembles Japan in many ways, but not all ways. We follow Mishi and Taka from the time they were children in an orphanage. Their lives divide when their destinies take them on different journeys. An evil council rules the land, who has decreed in secret that female babies born with special power must be destroyed. Mishi and Taka had somehow escaped the fate of so many other babies and lived their childhood in fear of being discovered. Discovery meant instant death.
A plan to bring down the evil council and expose the decree is in place. Will the childhood friends be reunited? Against all odds, will the evil that has ruled for a thousand years be defeated?
You'll have to read it yourself to find out!
