Ten Men in Việt Trì: Phú Thọ Hold a Point, and the Price Nobody Sees

Minute 50 at Việt Trì. Văn Thủy goes in studs-first. The referee reaches straight for red, no consultation needed. No long protest, no huddle around the official. Just the whistle, and a team suddenly a man down with the score still 0-0.

From that second on, the match stopped being a contest between Xuân Thiện Phú Thọ and Khatoco Khánh Hòa. It became a test of how a group survives when it is left behind. I chose seat B in the stand instead of the press area, where the crowd's breathing is louder than the loudspeakers. In Việt Trì that night, that breathing changed rhythm exactly seven minutes after the card.
