An incredible year!
2015 was a year of many exciting firsts
So many challenges and events shaped 2015 for me. My book Secrets of the Home Wood: the Sacrifice was published and topping that excitement, my grandson, Hamish, was born days later. I was on top of the world!

Other firsts
In July, I took my scuba diving certification, something I never thought I would do. Breathing under water and conquering my fear was challenging and thrilling.

The next revelation? Publishing is not the end of the process. Marketing is much harder and scarier.  Book signings, website and blogs, press releases, interviews, reviews, Twitter and Facebook. So much to learn!

Events                                                                  I had a wonderful first book signing at Indigo’s in Stoney Creek and followed it up with signings at Coles, and Chapters. Secrets was featured with other Hamilton authors in the Spectator, purchased by the Hamilton Library and is a finalist in the Wishing Shelf Book Awards (winner announced April 1st).

The sequel, The Stalker is in the works and receiving valuable feedback in Brian Henry’s Intensive writing class. Plans are to have it completed this year. I will post excerpts on my blog http://www.juliewhitley.com/blog. Let me know what you think!

At some point in the next few months, I will need some beta readers. Any takers? If you’re interested, please let me know!
My greatest Joy
This little man brings the smile to my face and warms my heart. He is sweetness itself.

Now nine months old, my grandson is busy, engaging, healthy and everything I could wish for in one cuddly little body.

This is my inaugural newsletter…a retrospective of the year. The next newsletters will be prospective. Onward and upward!
